Australian Goannas
The Goannas are the Men’s National representative team for deaf basketball in Australia and is made up of the best deaf athletes throughout the nation. Residing in multiple states, players travel once every 1 to 3 months to their training base in Melbourne to train together for a weekend before resuming their normal representative club duties back home.
Coming off the back of an undefeated run at the 2024 Asia Pacific Deaf Basketball Championships last September in Melbourne, winning Gold, the squad is now deep in preparations for the 2025 Deaflympics this November in Tokyo, Japan.
Meet your Goannas.
