AUSTRALIAN DEAF GAMES

About the

The Australian Deaf Games is a exciting multi-sport event for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in Australia, attracting more than 1000 competitors and participants from all over the country, some neighbouring Pacific nations and, potentially, one of two other overseas countries. These games occur once every 4 years and the next one will held next year (2024) at Lake Macquarie and Newcastle.

Basketball is one of the sports available to partake in with two competition structures to chose from:

  • 5 x 5 (Full court with 5 players per team)

  • 3 x 3 (Half court with 3 players per team)

This competition is a great way to meet new people and get an opportunity to be invited to train with the national teams! Deaf Basketball is a very popular sport with opportunities to represent Australia by playing in national teams (Goanna's and Gecko's as well as Under 21's Dingoes and Ringtails).
